Lexicon Technologies wins state award from the Georgia Department of Education
Lexicon Technologies was presented with the Georgia Department of Education’s Unique Business Partnership Award last night at a Rockdale County Board of Education meeting. Lexicon and Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) were chosen as duel winners based on their Work-Based Learning (WBL) partnership educating students in information technology, electronics, engineering and broadcast video production.
“We want our students to have the opportunity to graduate with an advantage, whether they go into the military, pursue higher education, or enter the workforce,” says Superintendent Richard Autry. “Having partners such as Lexicon provides that advantage. We are grateful for their commitment to our school system and our community. They, and all of our work-based learning partners, are making an immeasurable difference not only in the lives of children, but generations to come.”
Lexicon has successfully developed and managed electronics and engineering high school apprenticeship programs for nearly a decade, and has reinforced that commitment through a partnership with RCPS.
“Working with students is immensely rewarding,” said VP of Operations Dave Word. “We’ve noticed a tremendous growth in their skills, and they’ve even taught us a thing or two.”
